Back after the Bridal Shower

It feels like ages that I came here and update what I have been doing. It's just been crazeeeee. Trying to fill an order of 80 cards while also preparing for a friends Bridal shower. My friend, also Dhaarna's Sister in Law is getting married in August (Mentioned in one of the previous blogs I think :D) So we had her Bridal shower this past Saturday. It was fun fun fun. The bride to be and her groom are movie buffs. Since the time they met, one thing they have maintained with watching movies together, whether it is Bollywood (Indian Cinema) or Hollywood movies. They watch dvd's at home or go to the theater. So we had to keep the Bridal shower theme as BOLLYWOOD. This meant pretty, bight colors. We started with the invite, cordially designed by Dhaarna-the graphic designer ;) just a gorgeous deign.
Bridal Shower Invite
The invite was in the form of a movie poster. We sent the invite to the guests through email (everyone is updated on technology :D). As gifts we asked the guests to bring movie dvd's for the couple so they could start their own DVD collection. Next came the favors. Since it was Bollywood theme party and about movie, obvious favor we could think of was a Music CD. So we created a list of new, upbeat dance numbers of Bollywood and made CD's at home. Dhaarna used the picture of the invite to create cover for the Cd case-which looked awesome.
Favor-Music CD
We made bags for the favor to go in and put in the cd and some candy-wrapped using It's a wrap all occasions stamp set from Stampin' Up! The bags were paper sacks decorated using cardstocks and embellishments.

A party always has games and thanks to another friend of ours-who came up with some wonderful games to play we had tonnes of fun. Now with games, we get winners and so for these winners we had some cute handmade jewelry put in our handmade boxes. The jewelry was also handmade by Dhaarna and the Bride to be (yes we are a creative bunch).
Game winner's gifts
These paper boxes were perfect to give gifts to the winners. They are simple rectangular boxes lined with some cotton to lay the jewelry in. So with all this ready, we had to decorate the place. Now our original idea was to do it outside in the screened porch of the house. BUT, with the scorching sun it was not going to be place, so we had to move it inside and we could not do half of the decor the way we wanted. However we used brightly colored pillows and nice gold bedspread to make a floor sitting.
Floor seating
Some indian grilled food and loads of laughter and fun ended our Bridal shower. The Bride-to-be had not idea about the whole deal, except she had to show up at a certain time at a certain place. She loved it and enjoyed it, so did our guests. This just meant, A SUCCESSFUL BRIDAL SHOWER yayyyyy. Kreative Kookiez took care of a Bridal Shower event as well :D

Happy krafting until next time =)
