Birthday Cake banner

Today's card is inspired from sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping, Challenge # 245. The Sketch:

So here is my creation:
Banners just make the card so cute!! I love using banners on my card. This is going to be one of those sketches I might just use often with all those banners :)

So I decided to pop the label and also popped the little cupcake on it....Now cupcake is perfect anytime dessert...but birthday cupcakes are just different :) It perfectly fit in the circle... so that was awesome.

I like how the mustard and green show up on the red....due to those 2 colors in the banner, I stamped the sentiment, label and cupcake icing in red... sweet and simple.

This is all for today,

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Birthday Tapes

Today's card is inspired from an old sketch on Clean and Simple Stamping - 240. A very simple sketch... but endless possibilities.

So here is my take on the sketch:

I received this new stamp set Tape it from Stampin' Up! in mail yest with all the other things I ordered for my friend. So this sketch was perfect =) I used bright cheery colors...after all its a birthday card.

Sentiment is ofcourse popped up.... No bling, not many embellishments...so popping the sentiment makes it interesting.

The twine makes it complete and cute... I did not want to add any bling.....wanted the card to be unisex.

Birthday Wishes

Today's card is inspired form The Paper Players Challenge 151. The sketch is simple and cute.

I liked the sketch as soon as I saw it (all the layers :D) and thought it would be super cute with some bright colors. Here is my take on this sketch
I love the bright yellow and blue on kraft card base...The fancy broder edge is from Stampin' Up! called the Adorning Accents Edgelits. The only difficult thing about this edgelit is ensuring its straight and even. I always have a hard time with that!

After deciding to add layers of circles, how to place the sentiment was hard decision. Finally I decided to heat emboss the sentiment with white embossing powder... looks good!!

After finishing everything, I stared at the card for few minutes and thought rhinestones would be perfect...so started with the image and later even added on the ribbon by the circle, think it adds interest to the card :)

Mosaic Birthday Wishes

Today's card is simple card using sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping ... an old one... but I had copied the sketch down as I had liked it... and decided to use it today with the new Mosaic Madness stamp set I got from Stampin' Up!

So here is the sketch:

Here is my version:

I have started to like white on white cards =) Although colors are still essential and so is distressing edges!! Simply can't do without those :) I stamped the mosaics in different colors and punched them using the coordinating punch. Very cute punch and stamp bundle available on Stampin' Up! website.

I popped the sentiment using 3-dimensional glue. Once I was done, I thought something was missing. So I decided to add rhinestones in the blue mosaics and eventually added to all. It gave my card a more finished look =)

Simple Birthday Wishes

Today's card is for a sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. I had been wanting to make card for this challenge for few days now, but with summer studies it was not working out. Finally got the chance to make it yesterday =) This is for Sketch Challenge # 91

Here is the sketch:

A simple sketch.... So I decided to keep it simple in my version too. My version:

I though of adding a small flower or butterfly, but just did not want to add on... so instead I decided to put the small rhinestones under the sentiment.

I like how the card turned out...simple, yet pretty =)

Welcome Baby Card

It is Monday...and Mojo Monday has its Monday challenge up-- Mojo Monday 298 a super cute sketch with banners and bow and layers. I love banners....so I was excited to make a card for this sketch.

Here is my version of the sketch:

I changed the orientation by making it portrait instead of landscape (original design) but have tried to keep most of the sketch same. As soon as I saw the sketch, I visioned a baby card... I have to soon send a card out for a baby arrival and they are having a girl...so I went with pink and green combination.

I layered Pink Piroutte with Primrose Petal cardstock and Lucky limeade cardstock (Stampin Up! cardstocks) The little banners are from DCWV's Nana's Nursery Girl Designer stack. The stroller image is from Stampin' Up's Baby Bundle Stamp set and the sentiment is from Your Next Stamp's Welcome Baby Sentiments set.

I definitely love the banners =)They just give wow factor to any card.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Colorful Birthday

This is another card that I had been wanting to make for a while now. I have seen cards on Pinterest that have shape cut out in the layering cardstock and there are colorful strips of paper under the cut out. So I decided to try a card of my own with the cutout layer. Here is my card:

Of course I used scraps of designer paper under the cut out.. But the different colors look simply stunning together especially layed against the kraft colored cardstock. I used Stampin' Up' new oval dies to cut out the oval shape and used the part that cut out as a layer for the sentiment =) I know my "partner in crime" is going to love my efforts on using scraps :)

I love making faux stitches... so went around the card...wanted to make it around the ovals too, but was not sure how it would look. Still being in the Bling mode...I added some rhinestones instead =)

Bling Circle Birthday

So this card is inspired from a card I saw on Pinterest.. it is designed by Jodi from Stamping A Latte This card was a preview of some of the items by Taylored Expressions. It is a Father's Day card...but super adorable. The card can be seen HERE. Circles in the card and the bling of rhinestones catch your eye.

Talking about BLING... Paper Player's challenge this week is called "Bring on the Bling". This was perfect, I found this card on pinterest 2-3 days ago and yesterday I saw the challenge. Had to get working on my version of the card.

I used the new Smoky Slate cardstock from Stampin' Up...its a lighter shade of grey. The stamp is one I picked from Michaels long time ago and fit perfectly in Stampin' Up's new circle dies. With the grey I wanted some pop...so I used the bight colored printed papers. It was all about bling....so used small rhinestones all around the Smoky Slate layer under the sentiment and popped the sentiment.

Simple, yet fun and with some bling...card turned out to my satisfaction =)

Flower Happy Birthday to you

Finally I ordered the new colors from Stampin' Up!....cute colors and got them in mail yesterday. I decided to use it in my card today. The card's layout is from Sketch Challenge 438 on Splitcoaststampers.com. I like their Wednesday Sketch Challenges. I download the sketch on my computer to use later. Best part it...the sketch challenge is not a competition but more of a place to share different outcomes of the same layout. It does not have time limit. So if you make a card for a particular sketch and want to upload it after a month or two or more....it is absolutely okay =)

So this sketch is from 2 Wednesdays ago:

Here is my version of this layout:

The Quint-Essential flower is stamped in the new in colors from Stampin' UP! The cardstocks layered on brown cardstock are Pistachio Pudding (green shade) and Cool Cantaloupr (Orange shade) . I Stamped the flower in 4 different colors and use different punches to punch the layers out and popped them using 3-Dimensional glue. Love how the flower turned out =)

Cherry On top birthday

Another bright but simple birthday card. The inspiration is a Sketch that I had downloaded over a year ago, but could not remember from where. Silly me did not read the name of the blog on top of the pic :P ... one google search later...found Freshly Made Sketches They have some cute sketches... You will always find link to this blog in the Challenges list on the left of this post .. its a list of some of my favorite challenge blogs/websites.

Anywaz... look at the sketch:

My version of the sketch:

Birthday card... clean and simple... The cupcake is popped up, so is the sentiment. I know the strips are not sized as shown in sketch, But longer strips looked better with my design. I tried to use colors that would go for men and women... tried to make the card unisex :) The image and the sentiment coordinate perfectly...even tough they are from 2 different sets...love when that happens :)

Happy Birthday Circles

This card is inspired from Splitcoaststampers Wednesday's Card Sketches, Sketch Challenge 420. A simple little sketch that turned out cute :)

The sketch:

The sketch is simple, no embellishments, not many layers....so unlike me... but for some reason it made me think of making a simple birthday card, white on white with some colored circles. Here is my version:

I used Sycamore Street Desginer paper frm Stampin' Up! and layered them on orange circles to add some color.

On Your Birthday

Today's card is bright and cheery Birthday card serving 2 challenges =) (love when I can do that) ... Sketch 297# from Mojo Monday and Color Challenge from The Paper Players.

So here is the sketch:

I like layering...so this was a natural love for me :)  Then I found the color challenge #149 on Paper Players.... The colors for this week are So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Early Espresso (Stampin' Up! colors). So I decided to create one card satisfying both the challenges.

Here is my version of the sketch using the colors:

I love how it turned out...the colors are bright...perfect for wishing someone birthday...So I put Birthday sentiment on it and added some pearls to make it more feminine.

I can't stop raving about the ladies/gents who come up with these wonderful sketches that make card making easy...Thank you to all of the sketchers.

Here's to you Dad-Birthday

Simon Says Stamp has become my new favorite place to shop lately =) love the photopolymer stamps... cute designs, see through for better stamping...and some wonderful die designs as well. So I had been waiting for the recent purchases I made... but weather issues delayed them a little...Nevertheless, it came in mail today :) T

Today's card uses Avery Elle's The Man Stamp Set -- super addition to Masculine themed stamps.

The bottle and the drink inside are 2 different stamps that can be layered (LOVE IT!!) and I then hand cut the bottles. The sentiment "Here's to you Dad!" is also part of the stamp set. The designer paper and the drink bottles make the card pretty masculine I think =)

A closer look at the bottle and the sentiments:

# 1 Dad.... Father's Day!!

Today's card is another Father's Day card that I made 2 days ago, but could not post. While creating my last card, I had decided to use a particular stamp set sold by Stampin' Up! called "Blue Ribbon" which has a pretty medal look alike ribbon and different sentiments that could be stamped in the middle of the Ribbon. It looks like this

Blue Ribbon Clear-Mount Stamp Set

The only issue was to keep the scallop intact with the ribbons.... Hello PINTEREST... I found a pin showing how to keep the ribbons intact and still be able to punch the scallop out :D It took me to Patty Stamps where Patty shows how to punch it out... She has a picture tutorial that is pretty simple. Click HERE for the tutorial.

So here is my card:

I created the background on the Kraft cardstock by repeatedly stamping Dad and a small tie image. Loved how it turned out. It is fun to see how easily a stamp can create nice backgrounds for any card =) Use the same Kraft colored ink to create a subtle background.

Dad, there is only one you

Today's card is inspired from CAS(E) Sketch Challenge #30. It is a really cute sketch....especially because it has banners in it =) I love how they make the card look :D Here is the sketch:

Here is my version of this sketch:

I decided to use this sketch for Father's Day Card.... I like how it turned out...the Olive and Navy cardstock complement each other. I really like this sentiment "There is only one you", so with that in mind, I stamped "Dad" and "Happy Father's Day". In the end, it worked out well!

I rounded the sentiment "Dad" on one side and popped it with 3-D glue. I love banners....they just add an extra oomph to a card. I decided to use the blue and green shade and add the yellow. All those 3 colors pop well. I left the flap edges unglued...so they sort of spiral up.

Absolutely love this sketch.... will use it create another card =)

Banner Fathers day

Here is the creation for today, A father's day card using new Photopolymer stamps by Stampin' Up called Designer Typset. I love the banner stamp....super cute. Fun thing about Photopolymer stamps is you can adjust them on your stamp block, like I did for my card today. Simon Says Stamp, Lawn Fawn, My favorite things and many more companies out there manufacture stamps made from Photopolymer. I love how the stamps are see through so you can see exactly where you are stamping.

In lieu of Father's Day, here is my card

Man card are hard to make....phew...from the colors to design, it just takes so much time to ensure it looks manly!! I decided to emboss the background with an argyle texture plate (manly enough :D) and layered hand cut banner with "Happy Father's Day" stamped on it. My usual embellishments are ribbons, flowers, pearls (not manly) so I decided not to play around and just keep it simple. When adding the Best Dad Ever sentiment, I layered it funky to make it look fun :)

I like how the card turned out... and have listed it for sale on ETSY

Until next time,

Happy Krafting

Black and White Wedding

I am trying to get back on my card making track :D here is one I created yesterday. It is inspired from a sketch on Splitcoaststampers.

I have been intrigued with Black and White wedding card. Most of the time wedding cards I make are inspired from invitation cards or wedding color theme the bride is using. Indian weddings are bright, colorful and weddings in general are happy times. So I prefer to make bright, colorful yet elegant looking wedding cards. However, I have often seen Black and White wedding cards on Pinterest. So I decided to make one....I still managed to sneak in pop of red... it just looked too plain ;)

The inspirational sketch:

This is Wednesday's Sketch Challenge #429 from Splitcoaststamper. I know there is no ribbon on the inspiration, but with the wedding theme, I had to add one :D Its just an embellishment so its fair ;)

The Oval is popped up, so are both sentiments. I have covered the sentiment Best Wishes with glossy accent medium giving it a nice shine. I am still learning how to work with this medium... but loving how it gives nice to embellishments or stamped image while protecting it.
