Teacup Vase

Lately I have been working on decorating my Kitchen... actually it just happened..the idea was to make wall art from the ideas found on pinterest and decorate empty walls of all the rooms. The work started with Kitchen... and here we are... making Kitchen decor. So last posting was about subway art Kitchen Rules

While making wall art, I have also been reorganizing my craft room... trying to De-clutter and removing unwanted items, bringing in the right storage for all my tools and papers and stamps and every little thing I use to make my arts and craft. Michael's had 50% off their storage collection ;) had to go get some. When you are at Michaels you HAVE to walk through the clearance aisle... well I did and found me these pretty vases... originally priced at 24.99$ and 19.99$ they were priced down to 5.49$ and 4.49$ respectively (YAYY)

So I bought them thinking, I would stencil them. But instead I decided to use Stazon ink and Stamps. This wonderful set by Stampin' Up! called Tea Shoppe # 125547 had a pretty big tea cup...since it was kitchen decor...I thought this was perfect. So here are the vases done finally:

The vases are little on the cream side and not pure white. So I decided to use black ink...and nothing better than Stazon...I am hoping it will stay permanently ;) I might spray on a sealer to make the ink permanent. I have not touched the stamped image and just put it up above the cabinets. But I love it how it looks and adds to my kitchen :D

This is all for now...

Kitchen Rules

I have come across these various kitchen art ideas.... so many free prints available. I did save the free prints on the desktop of my laptop and thought about going to Kinko's and get prints and mod podging (that is one word lexicographers should add in dictionaries :D) it on canvas... Then I cam across this fun little art in TJ Maxx... I love this store for the home items... nice decorative vases, plates, art, cute little kitchen gadgets...

This is what I found there... but it was a little too small for my kitchen. The ceilings in my kitchen are at decent height and even though have tall cabinets...there is still space above the cabinets. So I thought hey I could make this myself. Clicked a pic of it on my phone and emailed it to my self.

So 2 days ago I went out and bought myself a 18" x 24" canvas and started working on it... Some acrylic paints, stamps, distress inks and a sanding block later... here is my take--

Now I tried to go free hand on the rules and it did not turn out as nice... but hey...its home made.. own made... my touch ;) So I am okay with it... I am glad I had bought this kitchen stamp set... little rolling pins, kitchen mitts, and measuring spoons make it super cute :D

It is up on the cabinets now ...unfortunately could not get a nice picture of it...will see if I can in the future and will update here :D

Last look.. comparison picture

Wishing Love and Laughter

This card uses Stampin' Up!'s stamp set called Love and Laughter # 125477 - a set of 8 stamps. So here is a wedding/anniversary card using the stamp set and the new edgelits Adorning Accents # 125995 and Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder # 125601  I heat embossed the dress using Winter wonderland Opaque Embossing Powder (can't remember the brand, but bought it at Michael's).

A close look at the bridal dress:

Isn't that pretty!! I simply love the embossed dress =)

This image is from a new stamp set from Stampin' Up! "Happy Hour" # 126642. Aren't those Martini Glasses super cute =) There are 17 different images in this set... and I love all of them. As soon as I saw it in the new catalog, I knew I wanted it :D

So here is the complete card:

The base card is Gumball Green- one of the new In-Colors from the new catalog... I was trying to see if I could make this card a little more neutral... but unfortunately the colors are all true lady like ;) bright and cheery ;) Cheers makes the right sentiment to wish birthday :D

Wish, Celebrate and Party

Almost 1-1/2 yrs ago my friend and I had gone to this craft show in Columbia, S.C. There were lot of vendors selling stamps, inks, punches and lot of other things. We also learned new techniques and got many ideas from there. We loved it...and ofcourse we had to shop some ;) (tonnes maybe haha) There I found this set of mini stamps by a company called Art Gone Wild...they were really cute. Finally I used one of the sets ;)

The set is called Birthday and Sweets Little Pictures sold by Art Gone Wild.  Now like I said I had bought this stamp set while back....but their current catalog shows some new cute sets :D Used square punch and scallop Nestabilities die to layer the cute images.

It is listed on Etsy for sale
