This weekend we are going to attend a wedding of a family friend's daughter. Indian weddings are bright, colorful and huge affair. The wedding invite is purple base with gold writing... So I decided to make a card with same color scheme...gold and purple. I used Rich Razzelberry cardstock (Stampin' Up) and gold cardstock, with some gold and purple embossing using the Medalliaon Stamp (Stampin' Up). Here is the card:
After embossing, I did not like the plain flat middle. So I decided to re-stamp the middle, emoboss it with Purple opaque embossing powder and pop it up using 3-d glue.
I love the Medallion stamp from Stampin' Up, works for all occasions =) I did stamp the inside with the message "To have and to hold from this day forward" (Fiskars Wedding sayings). Perfect card to wish the newlyweds a wonderful life ahead.
Until next time,
Happy Krafting
Cheers =)
I LOVE PINTEREST (if I haven't mentioned that before :P) It is just amazing how you can find wonderful ideas from all the creative people out there :D I have always heard and followed the phrase --"Do not re-invent the wheel". So I have to take this opportunity to thank all of them for sharing their wonderful and innovative ideas.
Now coming to the creation for this post. So I had a long term subbing job in a 2nd grade clasroom. The teacher was all about owls :) so while I was ending my term there, I decided to thank the teacher for choosing me to work for her. I created a post it note holder using an acrylic frame and put some owls on there. While creating the gift bag, I decided to make a big owl on the front. So hello Pinterest... and I found this awesome Owl Pillow Box Treat from Kerry's Paper Crafts- She has some awesome DIY projects, do check her site out. The link to the treat box has a video by Kerry which is wonderful, so I am not going to mess with those instructions.
But here is my creation:
The only difference is, I cut the pillow box out...just used the front part that she decorates in the video. Followed the rest of the directions like she said. But it is SUPER CUTE =) I loved it!!
Here it is on the bag:
Result: teacher loved it.... she and the aide could not believe it I made it. I could not believe I made it =) I adored the bag for a long time when done. Absolutely cute :D
Until Next time,
Happy krafting
Cheers =)
So here I am after a looong break.... I have missed creating new things and writing about it here =) But work had me bogged down for a while. But school has ended, vacation on... more time from card making :D
One of our pals graduated 2 weeks ago.... finally after 4 years of hardwork, he graduated from Pharmacy School.... everyone is proud of him. Of course we went for his graduation... and I am sure he knew he would be getting a nice card from us :) So here is what I created for him...wishing him on his graduation.
A simple card, with schools colors (after going through the school website, these are the colors I found...so I assumed these were school colors :D) and a big graduation cap with some pretty tassels. The cap is popped up using 3-dimesional glue. I made this card dual purpose with a pocket on the inside to hold a gift card.
The pocket was a quick creation -- cut the cardstock to size I liked...started with approx 4" x 3" piece and cut it down till the size I liked. I used a 1" circle punch to make an opening to pull the gift card out, put sticky tape on 3 sides and stuck it down. The cute little message added perfectly to this card (since the front had huge cap and tassels) which I decided to pop up. Popping the cap and message inside did make the card a little bulky. But since I was going to hand it personally I thought it would be okay. If I had to mail a similar card, I would not pop the message.
Last look:
I absolutely enjoyed making this card for our grad..... I wish him tonnes of success while he works on his American Dream =)
Until next time,
Cheers =)
