Rack Em Wall Art

In my last posting I had mentioned that I am working on another wall piece for my game room. The piece had been ready for few days now, but being busy with other things around me ...never got to putting it here =)

So my game/fitness room has a pool table, dart board and carrom board. So I wanted to start with some wall piece related to billiards/pool table. Looking through a decal making website (as usual forgot to keep the link/name.... GOTTA REMEMBER THAT NEXT TIME) I found this:

I liked those words...so billiard like... but not a fan of putting it on chalkboard. I got the idea of making cutting the letters out of chipboard and putting it in a floating frame (frame without matting). So I stenciled the letters and used a 3-D pop up glitter glue.

I used acrylic paint to stencil the letters. I am not as neat... so there is some paint here and there. But I was cutting the letters out, so no worries ;)

Well next was the frame... original idea was to put the letter in the frame. But then it occurred, maybe I could give a green background making it look like an actual table =) So I lined one of the glass in the frame using some Garden Green (Stampin' Up!) cardstock with a double sided tape (the tape side will be the back so no worried about it showing)

After I cut out the letters and glued it on the frame (used some snail glue) it still looked empty. I forgot to click a pic of it on this stage :( Anywaz so I decided to make 2 cue sticks and glue them on the bottom with a black #8 ball. But I could not draw the sticks out well. So I chucked the idea.... and decided to make the balls =)

So I punched 16-2" circles. Now I googled the billiards ball (too lazy to go downstairs :D), they have 7 solids, 7 striped, 1 black ball and 1 white ball. So i punched out 7 solids from different colored Cardstocks. Then punched 8 white balls and using markers colored to make stripes. I also used 3/4" Circle punch making 15 circles and writing numbers 1-15. I glued the numbers on the center of each circle ball. ( I know would have been easier if I clicked pics of all this...but I am learning slow ;D)

So here is the final wall piece:
Sorry you see my hands there... tough clicking picture of glass frame ;)
I liked how it turned out... my husband thought it was good as well (yayyyy). So another view of the frame:

It will be soon going on my wall =) while I also start working on another idea for the same room.

Until Next time...

Pump it up Wall art

With new Treadmill in the basement, there is no room for excuse =) So the basement room was supposed to be more like TV room/theater... but now it is more of a game room/fitness room. My husband is on weight loss spree and really working out. So now besides treadmill we have a bench and dumbbells. So I thought I could make a motivational hanging to hang around the treadmill to inspire me and my husband =)

So after looking on internet...this is what I found... I cant remember which website I went on but it was like a website where you can build your own decals. But 60$ for this print... I thought I could make my own.

So with the supplies I got from Michaels- Alphabet stencils, canavas and paints- I created this.

Stenciled on the words and used a Red marker to out line the letters. I thought of adding some dumbbels drawing or drawing sweat dripping.... but I decided not to for right now =)

Working on Next project.... wait for posting on that.

Until Next time,

Happy Krafting =)

Organize and Make Art

Pinterest is really making things hard now hahaha... so many ideas--Unbelievable and ultimate inspirational place. Seeing what others pin, visiting blogs... OMG did not even know so many blogs existed!!

Well so I did make some things around the house that were inspired from Pinterest... Now time to make more. So over the weekend I receive email from Michaels that they have one day coupon for today- 25% off entire purchase including sale items. So I HAD TO GO :D Guess what I came back with????

Baskets are for organizing some areas of the house :D Love the baskets with Chalkboard in front of them...perfect. Now I won't have to print and tape in the front of the basket.

I went with the plan to buy wood/MDF letters. I even picked the letters and then walking down aisles noticed the stencils. In between one of my friends was thinking about using stamp or stencil to decorate a lamp shade she has...I saw stencils with wonderful designs. Now each one cost 5.99$. I am sure my idea of printing it and cutting it out is not new... But my light bulb clicked hahaha so going to have to do that for making geometric design/art on canvas ;) Well next to the designs were alphabets... made me think, why don't I just get stencil so I can use them over and over. So bought 2 Font styles of Alphabets. Soooo ready to make art for my basement game/fitness room.

Finally, I bought some supplies I was running out of for my card making and finally bought a craft mat (been watching others use it craft videos). Finally will have clean work space :D no glue, no ink and no sticky areas hahaha

Time to get cracking on all the work now...

Will upload pics soon =)

Until next time,

Some more Candy Holders!!

So like I mentioned in previous post, I am going to try and make something new everyday. Today I happened to make 2 candy holders. So you know they were not hard... and with the wonderful resource on splitcoaststampers, it is absolutely easy.

The first candy holder- One Cardstock Box - is from Splitcoaststamper. As the name says, you will need just 1 cardstock to make this box/bag.

So I used Garden Green CS-8-1/2"x 11". Folded it according to directions and covered it with DSP measuring 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" and added some sentiments. I think it is a cute little bag/box to hold some treats--will work good as favor or to distribute as treats in classroom.

The next item today took barely few minutes to make. Quick and easy and super cute. This Candy Box is from Becky-Inking Idaho's website. She has some wonderful ideas and tutorials on her website. I actually saw this on pinterest and thought it was a super cute idea. so I decided to try it out.

I used roller stamp to stamp image using versamark ink and used some Stardust embossing powder (Non-SU). This was the easiest candy holder basket/box i have made.

I have enjoyed making these today. Even though they are cased from other websites, the way I decorate them makes them personal to me =)

Until Next time,

Box for cards

2-3 weeks ago I made a set of 6 Thank you cards and listed them on Etsy. I wanted to make a box to go with the cards and put the cards in, but I was not sure about the measurements =). That thoughts passed away as weeks went by and yesterday I made a basket (cased from Angie Juda's website). I love making baskets and bags and boxes, which made me think why don't I try this more... go through websites, find tutorials and make some of it. Splitcoaststampers resource room is the best place to start with. So I decided to make the 3"x3" Notecard Box

So I started and remembered that cards I make measure 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". So it was not going to fit in this 3"x3" box. So I had to do some mathematical calculations and figure out how I would make my cards fit in.

Many numbers later... I got it and made the box just to realize that I have recently changed my card size from 4-1/2"x6" to 4-1/4"x5-1/2" but my envelopes are still the ones that fit the previous sizes. Some more calculations later... I finally had the box. Yipeeeeeeeeeee....

Time to make the actual box that will hold the Thank You cards. So the only changes I made to the Splitcoaststampers 3"x3" Notecards Box was the measurements of the Cardsotck.

For the Base: 1 Cardstock measuring 9"x 10-3/4". Score at 2" all sides.
For the Top: 1 Cardstock measuring 7-1/8"x 8-7/8" score at 1" on all side.
For Designer paper-to cover the top: I used CS measuring 6-5/8"x 8-1/2" and score at 3/4"
For Designer paper to cover the bottom: I used 2 strips of 1-7/8"x12" and glued it around the box.

Just follow the directions on splitcoaststampers and finish the box...It is a versatile box that can be used to keep cards, for gifts, candies etc.

Here is my final product:
So the days I am home, I intend to keep this on and try new stuff ;)

Until next time,

Happy Krafting
